The LadyKats girls’ soccer team kicked off their season with a 9-0 victory over county rival Western. The Kats beat the Panthers for the first time in seven years.
During senior night on Aug. 22, the LadyKats took down the Marion Giants. The Kats found the net for seven goals during the game.
Playing soccer helps build valuable life skills such as hard work, decision-making, problem-solving and communication. It also teaches the importance of teamwork, cooperation and good sportsmanship. That has become one of head coach Elizabeth Rayl’s favorite parts of coaching.
“My favorite part of coaching the team is teaching the girls how to be good leaders and teammates,” she said.
Rayl hopes that the KHS community will come out and support her team.
“We have a great group of girls,” she said. “The girls are fun to watch, so people should definitely come to games.”
The LadyKats take on the McCutcheon Mavericks Tuesday.
