School makes change to end-of-year calendar

School makes change to end-of-year calendar

As the school year continues, seniors have already started preparing for graduation. There are a lot of things to be done and a lot of new information as students prepared for the end of their high school careers, including a new date for the 2025 commencement. The graduation ceremony is now scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2025.

“The date has been changed the last two years because there are students who go to the Military or go to universities early for different programs,” said principal Angela Blessing. “Moving forward graduation will not be announced until January.”

As seniors are looking ahead to graduation, they should remember to keep track of their credits and order their caps and gowns by today.

“You can only be one credit short to be able to walk at graduation,” Blessing said. “You can’t walk on stage at graduation without a cap and gown. If students can’t afford a cap and gown we have sponsors who will be able to help them with that.”

Another new change to this year’s schedule is Senior Sendoff Week. While KHS has had a week of special events in the past, this year it marks the final time seniors will be in the building. Seniors will not return following Katwalk and Senior Field Day, while underclassmen will return after Memorial Day for finals.

Additional information about graduation, Final Fling, Senior Recognition Night and Senior Sendoff Week will be coming in the next several weeks.
