During Megan Leavitt’s gymnastics season, the KHS junior made history once again, earning the chance to compete at the IHSAA state finals on bars. This was one of her goals from the beginning of the season and all of the hard work and dedication helped to get her there. Leavitt felt she had a very successful season and it was filled with many accomplishments.

“I am very happy with what I was able to accomplish this season. Making it to state was my main goal, and I accomplished it,” Leavitt said. “I also ended up with all 9’s on beam, and no falls in competition on any event. I was very happy with these accomplishments.”

Although the state finals are done, Leavitt is not. She will be training for Nationals.

“Until June, I will be training for nationals. I will be competing in high school gymnastics nationals while representing Kokomo High School. After this, I am planning on working upgrades for next year in order to have higher start values,” Leavitt said.

Moving forward, she is excited for what is next.

“Next year, I am looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish. I have come so far from last year to this year, and I am so excited to see what next year will bring.”
