Homecoming is a time of the year for fans, students and alumni to come together and show their school spirit.
“Homecoming is a time for us to show our school spirit and it really showcases who we are,” said Student Council president Ethan Lytle.
Throughout the week, there will be events and activities all leading up to the big game on Friday, Sept. 12 against the Jeffersonville Red Devils.
The theme for this year’s Homecoming week is “Beat the Devil Out of ‘Em.” Student Council, who is in charge of Homecoming, is planning dress-up days for the week.
Monday: Color Wars
Tuesday: Iconic Duos
Wednesday: Age Wars
Thursday: Meme Day
Friday: Spirit Day
In addition to this year’s dress-up days, Student Council is hosting a Spirit Sheet contest. Clubs from around the school can decorate a sheet to be displayed in the hallway throughout the week. They will also be decorating the school for the week.
On Monday, Sept. 8, Varsity Club will host the second-annual Homecoming Flag Football game at Walter Cross Field. The games will be freshman vs. seniors and sophomore vs. juniors, with the winners playing for the championship. Tickets for the games are $5 and can be purchased at the event. Girls who are interested in playing need to sign up by Tuesday.
“They can sign up with Coach Bough, who has the list, by Tuesday, Sept. 2,” said Varsity Club sponsor Haley Peckinpaugh.
