Getting involved in a club or activity is a great way to make friends and help the school days go a little faster. Check out the list below to see where you might want to get involved this year.
Kokomo Leadership Academy: Kokomo Leadership Academy, known as KLA, wants to instill values that build confidence, foster strong relationships and prepare students for success in high school and beyond. They offer mentorship and tutoring. They have some upcoming events, middle school visits and they are currently working on a fundraiser. Look for the International Lunch Connection on Sept. 5 and meetings on Sept. 11 from 11:30 to 12:30pm and Oct. 8 from 11 to 12pm. Talk to club advisers Jason Spear or Amy Roe for more information.
KATS Together: KATS Together’s mission is to foster a comfortable and positive environment where all students feel accepted and included. During lunch, general education friends are mixed with special education friends to play games, do crafts and have treats. The first lunch is coming up today. Over 60 students have signed up to be a part of the lunches. All grades are invited to come be a part of KATS Together; the only thing they ask is that when coming you come with a kind heart and an open mind. If you have any questions about this club, contact president Macy Rakestraw or advisor Leslie Lewis.
Student Council: Students should join because the Student Council is a great place to make friends and connect with your school community. Meetings are every Monday, with a couple mandatory workdays to help set up for Spring Formal and decorate for Homecoming. Student Council is responsible for a large number of activities throughout the school year, like Homecoming, Halloween Trick-or-Treating, Spirit Weeks and Spring Formal. Anyone interested in joining Student Council should contact president Ethan Lytle or sponsors Leslie Lewis and Mariah Horner.

They are part of a world-wide organization with close to 4,000 teams in more than 100 countries. The team call-out meeting is Sept. 2 from 5:30-7:00 in the KHS Cafeteria. Meetings during the fall are every Tuesday from 5:30-7:30pm. We also volunteer throughout the community and state.
