School picture day is an important tradition, capturing memories that will last long after the school year ends. But what happens if you miss the date or you just aren’t happy with your photo? That’s where picture retake day comes in.
Any student who was absent during the original photo day, or who would like another chance at a better shot, is welcome to participate in retakes. Students who already ordered a package and wish to retake their photo must return the original package when they come in.
“We offer retakes because we know things happen, and sometimes the first picture doesn’t live up to expectations, so we want to give students a chance to retake the photo,” said yearbook adviser Amanda Marvin.
On retake day, students will be called down during their English classes, just like on the original photo day. Both underclassmen and seniors will have their photos taken on Oct. 15 though.
Getting the perfect picture can be challenging for students. There are many factors to consider when getting ready.
“The hardest part about getting a good school picture is probably making sure you look perfect, then and there. In the exact moment,” said senior Keaira Harmon.
Having to take a photo in front of a group can also make things more difficult for students. For junior Royce Fritch, trying to keep a straight face with all of his friends in line behind him can sometimes be hard. But for some students, picture day is about capturing what matters most to them and helping them create a memory from this school year.
“The most important part of pictures is my smile because I like it,” said junior Zoey Minor.
Picture retake day isn’t just about looking perfect – it’s about making sure each student feels confident and represented in their school memories. So whether it’s fixing a smile, calming nerves or simply giving it another try, retakes are here to help every student put their best face forward.
