The Ladykat basketball team is on a roll, winning seven games in a row. The Ladykats, who are 8-3,  are two wins away from beating last year’s record.

For head coach Haley Peckinpaugh, this season is all about peaking during the right part of the season.

“Our goals for this year are to play to our full potential and peak at the right part in the season. We want to focus on developing our game and becoming the best version of Ladykat basketball we can be,” she said.

Kokomo’s last loss came on Nov. 13 to ranked West Lafayette. The Kats lost in overtime. But ever since, the Ladykats have found their stride and are making all the right moves. In one of the most anticipated games, the LadyKats beat county rival Western, 54-45. The game against the Panthers was one Peckinpaugh was looking forward to.

“It is a pretty cool rivalry and they are a very talented team,” she said. “The Ladykats work harder than anyone imagines and they are just getting started!”

The Ladykats travel to Marion to take on the Giants Friday night in the first game of a girls’/boys’ double header.
