Simmons breaks records, competes at state

Junior Aubrey Simmons competes in a home swim meet. Simmons qualified for the state meet this season, finishing 4th in the 100 meter backstroke and 7th in the 50 meter freestyle. She set new school records in both events.

At the beginning of the swim season, junior Aubrey Simmons set goals for herself.

“One of my main goals for this swim season is to break individual NCC records,” she said. 

Simmons broke records throughout the season, setting new school records in both the 100 meter backstroke and the 50 meter freestyle. She set those records while swimming at the IHSAA state finals. Simmons placed 4th in the 100 meter backstroke and 7th in the 50 meter freestyle.

The Lady Katfish finished 4th at the North Central Conference meet where Simmons set new NCC Record with her 1st place finish in the 100 meter butterfly.
