As the KHS baseball team starts the second half of their season, they are working hard to make improvements to their game. The team is currently 6-4. Many of the players have set new goals for the season and they are working to reach them. The team completed a clean sweep against Lafayette Jeff, winning 7-3 and 7-1.
“Our season’s going great so far,” said senior Eli Catron. “The boys are catching on quickly and we have a good team connection.”
Jude Rivers is a senior on the baseball team, and has been playing for 11 years. He has already had many memorable moments this season such as hitting a bases loaded triple which kept the team in the game. Rivers is hopeful the team can make a good run in the post-season.
“I would like to get further in sectionals this year and make it past the first round and with this team I think we can do it,” he said.
In the Kats’ 7-1 victory over Logansport, senior Dalton Dixon carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He finished the night only allowing three hits and three walks, while striking out nine batters. The team has also gotten multiple hit games from senior Chad Washburn and juniors Brighton Harris, JJ Gillespie and Flamino.
The Kats take on the Northwestern Tigers tonight at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. Game time is 6pm.
